Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors for stage productions and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford has been engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over one century. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the cult CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Other Broadway performances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned a Tony Award nomination. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
